Success has a method

At inlingua you learn more than just the right vocabulary. Right from the start your trainer speaks to you in the language that you are learning. Take every opportunity to familiarize yourself with various situations in a safe environment and consolidate your language competence in dialogue. Trust your trainer who will teach you the language structures without ‘studying rules’ – and continually encourages you to really speak. Until you can do it by yourself. Training at inlingua means gaining confidence step by step.

‘inlingualistas’, who wish to learn a new language or simply brush up on and expand their current language knowledge, usually have a clear target in sight. The target can either be professionally or privately driven. With that in mind, we offer you the inlingua General Purpose Programme (GPP), which is focused on the private sphere, in which you need everyday language skills. For those, who would like to be able to communicate better in the business world, the inlingua Accelerated Professional Programmes (APP), and many various theme-focused modules ensure that you are prepared for your specific goals.

All inlingua trainers are not only highly qualified in terms of didactics and education. They are also always native speakers. Their intercultural competence goes far beyond the mediation of the language alone – they know the idiosyncrasies of each country, and apart from the language skills, they can also sharpen the view of the peculiarities of the target country. That way you can learn in a relaxed way and almost as a by-product – for example in role plays – to correctly assess situations, gestures and facial expressions and adjust to the individual customs of the country of your desired language.

At inlingua you learn with specially developed training materials, which are based on a uniform educational and communicative concept. The experiences that our trainers have in their day to day practice and through the feedback of the participants, continually influence the further development of these materials. In close collaboration with leading companies and with scientific advice, practice oriented, up-to-date training documents emerge. In this way you can be assured that you always achieve optimum learning success with inlingua and achieve your goal confidently.

The inlingua method focuses on direct communication through active speaking. inlingua students focus on their oral skills before moving on to reading and advanced listening and writing skills.

They go through three phases during the training and thus achieve their goals with a wide range of different training methods and activities.

Phase 1: The presentation

The presentation phase is kept as short as possible. Your trainer is still controlling what happens. For example, your trainer introduces a new linguistic element to you, and gives you clear examples for its application. At the same time, you will be taught the right pronunciation and intonation.

Phase 2: The practice phase

Now it’s your turn! The aim of the practice phase is to use the linguistic element learnt in phase one correctly. Therefore, you form corresponding sentences in the target language – the inlingua trainer supports you in this, corrects your mistakes and motivates you to speak a lot yourself. Make the most of your chance and try it out in this safe atmosphere.

Phase 3: The application phase

Your creativity is required! When you can use the new element correctly, you begin to combine new elements with known ones, to talk about yourself, to act in role-plays, express your opinion or solve problems. Off you go! Because here you learn confident and creative language use.

The inlingua method

If you would like to learn or improve a language, it is not only the teaching approach and the materials that you need to trust. The trainer’s personality, the didactic approach and fun when learning are also crucial for the success of the learners. The atmosphere during training and the ‘chemistry’ must be right.

All of this has been consolidated into a method, which we have been using since 1968, and which has helped millions of ‘inlingualists’ to achieve their goal, to cope with a variety of communication situations confidently and accordingly. Languages are inlingua.
